Mrs. Rebecca Rush, 73 years old, died at 6 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the home of her son, Mr. Marshall Rush, at Boreing, following a stroke of apoplexy.
The stroke followed a few weeks illness with flu.
A daughter of James and Martha Hubbard Sasser, she was born March 23, 1865 in Knox County but when a young girl, she with her family moved to Laurel county where she has since made her home.
She was a member of the United Baptist Church at Blackwater.
In 1882 she was married to Mr. Joseph Rush and to this union ten children were born, six of whom survive.
One daughter, Mrs. Neil Taylor, of Boreing
and five sons, Jim Rush, Lesbas,
Charles Rush, London, Millard Rush, Fariston and Bolton and Marshall Rush of Boreing.
Her husband preceded her in death, thirty-two years ago.
She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Ida Hampton of Middlestown, OH and one brother, Sim Sasser of Cincinnati, OH, twenty grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Monday morning at the Laurel River Baptist church with
the Revs. Bolton and Jackson officiating and interment followed in the Baldwin cemetery in Lesbas.
