Elizabeth Anna Zipperer, age 92, who resided at St. Mary's Home for the past four years, died Tuesday morning, March 14, 2000 at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc. Due to the renovation at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc, funeral services will be held at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2000 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home,Manitowoc and 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. Concelebrating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Revs. Roman Zbieranski, O.F.M. and Thomas Wojciechowski, O.F.M. with burial to follow at St. Michael Catholic Church Cemetery, Whitelaw.
She was born September 3, 1907 in Whitelaw, daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Licht Schiesl. She worked in Milwaukee until the time of her marriage to Edmund Anton Zipperer on September 3, 1929 at St. Michaels Catholic church, Whitelaw. Edmund preceded her in death on November 25, 1974. They were active members of St. Mary's Parish in Manitowoc where Elizabeth was a member of the Rosary Society for 53 years. Elizabeth was formerly employed at Park Caf? and at St. Mary?s Home, Manitowoc. Lily also enjoyed participating in her card club.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James and Joanne Zipperer, Cooperstown; seven daughters and three sons-in-law, Grace Reddy, Brookfield, Anna Mae Leiker, Manitowoc, Betty and Jerry Keil, Manitowoc, Rita Dunn, Seattle, Wash., Joan Dewane, Kathryn and Del Ward, Bernice and Richard Smith, all of Phoenix, Ariz. Also surviving are her beloved 29 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; one brother, Herbert Schiesl, Manitowoc; two sisters-in-law, Bernardine (Reuben) Schiesl, Manitowoc, Mildred Zipperer Anderson, Menasha.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother-in-law, Ida Schiesl, Mary and Kelly Schmatz; six brothers and five sisters-in-law, Joseph and Irene Schisel, George and Frances Schiesl, Edward Schiesl, Reuben Schiesl, Delphine Schiesl, twins, Nick and Frank Schiesl and their wives, Hilda and Florence Schiesl; two sons-in-law, Dale H. Leiker and John R. Reedy.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 5-8 p.m. Friday where a prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. led by Rev. Tom Wojciechowski, O.F.M.
Memorials would be appreciated to St. Mary's Home ADRD Special Care Unit, Manitowoc.
The family of Elizabeth thanks you for gathering to celebrate her life. We are grateful to God for her life, your friendships, kindness and prayers. We are especially thankful to all the "Angels" who tenderly cared for our mother at St. Mary's Home these last years of her life.
