William Marcus Highland was born February 8, 1912 at Cobden, the son of R. E. and Bertha Goodman Highland. His mother died October 2, 1961. His father and the following siblings survive: Charles of Carbondale; Herbert of New Orleans, Louisianna; Louis of Carbondale; Paul of Salinas, California; and Mrs. Louise Hayes of Detroit, Michigan.
He leaves a daughter, Anita Lynn Highland.
Mr. Highland was a construction laborer. He was a member of Drury Christian Church. He died at the age of 49 at his Carbondale home from an apparent heart attack.
