Mrs. Peter Karbon, 73, a pioneer resident of Reif's Mills, died Saturday night at the home, following a stroke. Burial will take place Tuesday from the Catholic church at Reif's Mills. The deceased, whose maiden name was Elizabeth Hrdina, was born in Bohemia and came to this country with her parents at the age of three. She was married 55 years ago to Peter Karbon and they resided on a farm near Reif's Mills since that time. Besides the husband, four daughters, Mrs. Matt Decker, Rockwood, Mrs. Frank Kronforst, Cooperstown, Mrs. Adolph Cherney, Mishicot and Mrs. Walter Blaeser, Rapids, seven sons, Peter and Charles at home, Wencil, Francis Creeek, Joseph Rockwood, George, Rapids, John Gibson, and Adolph of Rapids, three brothers, John of Kossuth, Adolph of Medford and George of Rapids, two sisters, Mrs. John Cisler of Branch and Miss Mary Hrdina of this city, 22 Grandchildren and seven great grandchildren survive.
