MARY SITKEWITZ

MARY SITKEWITZ PIONEER OF NORDHEIM IS DEAD, AGED 78
Mrs. Mary Sitkawitz (sic), widow of Felix Sitkawitz, died at the
home of her son, John Sitkawitz at Nordheim at noon yesterday,
her demise being due to infirmities incident to old age. The
funeral will be held Saturday morning from the home at 8:30 and
at 9 o'clock at St. Casmir's Catholic church at Nordeim, the Rev.
Dominik Szopinski officiating.
Born in Germany October 12, 1847 Mrs. Sitkawitz was past seventy-
eight years of age. She came to this country at the age of twenty
and made her home at Nordheim. Before her marriage to Felix
Sitkawitz she was Mary Szminski. Her husband preceded her in death
twenty-six years ago and since his death she has made her home with
her children.
Nine children, thirty-five grandchildren and twenty-nine great
grandchildren survive her. The children are Mrs. Catherine Daron
and Mrs. Mike Piotke of this city; Mrs. John Karbowski of Two Rivers;
Mrs. Mary Arenz of Sheboygan; John at at (sic) home; George of
Milwaukee; Louis of Thiensville, Lawrence of Chicago and Joseph of
this city.
