Mrs. Leroy (Mary C.) Bruechert, R.N., 58, of 2130 Herman Rd., Manitowoc, died Sunday afternoon, July 19, 1987 at Memorial Hospital, following a short illness. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 am at Sacred heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc and entombment will be in Knollwood Mausoleum.
Mrs. Bruechert was born April 17, 1929 at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Angus Hebert and Eva Turner.
She was married to Leroy D., December 9, 1961 at Illinois.
She grew up and was educated in Manitowoc and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1947. Mrs. Bruechert graduated from Columbia School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois with the Class of 1951. She was employed with Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital, Los Angeles, California in their Delivery Room until 1957. She then returned to Manitowoc and was employed at Memorial Hospital as the OB Supervisor until the department was eliminated. Mrs. Bruechert continued her employment at Memorial Hospital as a Staff Nurse which was her present position. She had been employed at Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years. Mrs. Bruechert served in the United States Air Force from 1953-1954 as a General Duty Nurse.
Survivors include her husband, Leroy D. of Manitowoc; a son, Donald; two daughters, Sara at home and Mary Beth of Appleton; three stepchildren, Sandy Bauer of Manitowoc, Paul Bruechert of Manitowoc and Gary Bruechert of Valders; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Mary Hebert of Manitowoc; a sister, Jean Leyendecker of Manitowoc; 8 step grandchildren; nieces, nephews, many other special relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Henry and a sister, Joyce Dilsaver.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 pm to 9 pm Wednesday, where a prayer service will be 7:30 pm by Father Zimmer.
