Michael E. Eslinger, age 49, of 949 Chrysler Drive, Mishicot, entered into eternal rest Saturday evening, May 1, 2004 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at the Knollwood Mausoleum, Hwy. 310 in Manitowoc, with the Rev. Robert Johannes officiating, entombment will follow in the mausoleum.
Mike was born April 4, 1955 in Two Rivers, to the late Lester and Arlene Junk Eslinger, and has been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of the Mishicot High School with the class of 1973.
Mike married the former Patricia Decker on Oct. 17, 1986 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Two Creeks.
He was a third-generation farmer, on the family homestead farm. Mike also worked for Extrutech Plastics Inc. of Manitowoc. He was a member of the Mishicot Pool League for 25 years, and was also a member of the NFO.
Survivors include his wife Patty, one daughter, Lindsay Eslinger, one son, Weston Eslinger, both residing at home, his step-mother, Jeanette Eslinger, of Mishicot, a brother, Ralph Eslinger, of Green Bay, and a sister, Carol Slager, of Menchalville. He is further surivived by a step-brother, Kenneth (Ann) Basken, of Illinois, and a step-sister, Carol Van Price, of Arizona, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many special friends.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Eslinger, his mother-in-law, and father-in-law, Roman Sr. and Caroline Decker, and by a brother-in-law, Russell Slager, and sister-in-law, Bonnie Jacquart.
Relatives and friends may call after 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Knollwood Mausoleum, until the time of service at 1 p.m. There will be no Tuesday evening visitation. A memorial fund has been established in his name. The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot is assisting the Eslinger family with funeral arrangements.
