Walter W. Grapentine Sr., age 87, died Saturday evening, Sept. 23, 2006, at the Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc County.
Private family funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at the Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Highway 310, Manitowoc Entombment in the Knollwood Mausoleum followed the service.
Walter was born March 19, 1919, in Manitowoc County, son of the late Fred and Alvina Willert Grapentine. He grew up in Manitowoc and was a 1937 graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc.
On Sept. 23, 1939, Walter was married to the former Sadie W. Ploeckelman in Manitowoc.
Walter worked for the Mirro Company, retiring in 1983. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and coin collecting.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Charles, William and Fred; three sisters: Adela, Harriet and Ida.
