Martha L. Hendries, 86, of St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc, died Monday evening, August 26, 1991, at the Home, after a long and courageous battle with emphysema.

She was born in Swanville, Minn., on August 12, 1905, of the late Gustav and Mary Brandt Bertram.

She married Roy Smith who preceded her in death. She later married Victor Hendries who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter son-in-law, Joyclyn[sic] and Robert Gerroll of Two Rivers; two grandchildren, Rick Gerroll and his fiancée, Christine Kornely of Manitowoc; and Terry and her husband, Kenneth Rahn of Rudolph, Wisconsin; two great grandchildren, Erin and Brian Rahn; a sister, Laura Matthews of Brainerd, Minnesota; a sister-in-law, Olive Bertram of Mayville, Wisconsin.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. this Thursday at Klein and Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers; entombment was in Knollwood Mausoleum. Memorials should be made to the Joseph Mann Library in Two Rivers.
