GEORGE J JOAS

George J. Joas, Tomahawk, WI, 62, formerly of Chilton passed away on Monday Oct. 22, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk.

He was born on Dec. 8, 1927, the son of the late Herman and Sarah (Lai) Joas.

He married Mary Nimtz on June 27, 1953 in Milwaukee.

He was employed by Heiser Ford in Milwaukee as a service technician until retiring in 1985. He had also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by three daughters, Mary Margaret Arnold of Milwaukee, Patricia Ann Russell of Milwaukee, and Barbara Jean and Tom Kiechbasch of Milwaukee; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Elsie Juckem of Chilton, Lillie Stache of Potter, and Rosemary Joas of Chilton; and a brother, Herman Joas Jr., New Franken.

Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 26 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chilton, with the Rev. Loren Nys, SDS officiating. Burial will be in the Knollwood Mausoleum in Manitowoc.
