MELVIN A JUNG

Melvin A. Jung, age 82, formerly of 728 Manitou St., died Wednesday morning, August 16, 2000, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 21, 2000 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Rev. Donald R. Staude will officiate with entombment of his cremated remains at Knollwood Mausoleum.

Mr. Jung was born May 8, 1918, at Manitowoc, son of the late John and Margaret Adler Jung.

Melvin attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated in 1936 form Manitowoc Lincoln High School.

Melvin was a Chief Design Engineer for the Invincible Furniture Company, retiring on May 2, 1991.

On July 24, 1954, he was married to Dolores M. Billie, at First German Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.

He was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church and in the past was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed a lot of outdoor activities.

Survivors include his wife Dolores, Manitowoc; three sons and two daughters-in-law, John (Carolyn) Jung, Shelbyville, Ky., David Jung, Manitowoc, James (Kim) Jung, Rochester, Minn; four grandsons, Joshua and Jonathan Jung, Michael and Mathew Jung; two brothers and sisters-in-law; Elwood (Arlette) Jung, Manitowoc, Robert (Wynonma) Jung, Chandler, Ariz; two sisters, Mildred Lensmeyer, Chandler, Ariz., Elaine Sornborger, West Corina, Calif; nieces, nephews, special cousins, and friends survive.

He was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Bernard Lensmeyer and Sam Sornborger.

Relatives and friends may call at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Memorials would be appreciated for St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church or Shady Lane Nursing Care Center.

Jens Family Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.

A special thank you to the Medicare staff and the fourth floor staff of the Shady Lane Nursing Care Center for the wonderful care he received, also to Dr. Mark Herring and Dr. Michael Voelken for their special care. Melvin was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all of his family.
