Ignatius (Ernie) Kaminski, 62, of 1702 Silver Creek Rd., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon, October 20, at Holy Family Hospital.
Mr. Kaminski was born Jan. 18, 1918, at Manitowoc, son of the late Michael and Marcella (née Derla) Kaminski. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army from Nov. 7, 1942 to Nov. 29, 1945. He served in Battery D. 449th A.A.A. Battalion, overseas in the European Theater of Operations in Normandy, Ardennes, Rhineland and the Central Europe Campaign.
He married Florine Granzow Dec. 26, 1950, at Chicago, Ill.
Mr. Kaminski had been employed 34 years with Manitowoc Engineering Company as a senior clerk in the Crane Department. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 659 of Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife, Florine, two sons and daughters-in-law, William R. and Dolores Stegmann and Robert and Beverly Stegmann of Manitowoc; a daughter and son-in-law, Glroia and Richard Schweisburger of West Allis; three brothers, Anthony, Florian and Leonard Kaminski of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. John (Emily) Befort of Appleton, 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Three brothers, Alois, Michael and Daniel and four sisters, Josephine, Anna, Frances and Adeline preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc and entombment will be in Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth.
