PIONEER LAID TO REST TODAY AT CENTERVILLE
Funeral services for Robert Fiedler Sr., pioneer of Centerville who died Saturday
at the home of his daughter Mrs. Robert Born there, were held today.
Mr. Fiedler was born in Germany, November 3, 1846, and came to the United States
in 1855. He settled in Milwaukee and moved to Manitowoc county in 1868, where he
had since resided. He was united in marriage in 1872 to Mrs. Margareta Bohnl (sic),
who with ten children and twenty-four grandchildren, survive.
The children are, six daughters: Mrs. Amelia Sixel, of Mosel; Mrs. Mathilda Born,
Mrs. Annie Sixel and Mrs. Amanda Roethel of Meeme, Mrs. Emma Luetze and Mrs. Mary
Born of Centerville and four sons: Herman Fiedler of Cleveland; Henry Fiedler,
Meeme; Robert Fiedler, Jr., of Sheboygan Falls and William Fiedler of Centerville.

Notes from Cleveland:
Mr. Robert Feidler(sic), an old resident of Meeme, died Saturday morning at the
age of 74 years. He was born in Doebel, Saxon, Germany in 1847 and emigrated with
his parents to America at the age of 9 years, arriving at Milwaukee and living
there for two years, then they moved to the town of Newton. In 1858 his parents
moved to the Town of Meeme and he has lived in that town since. When he grew up
to a young man he engaged in the carpentry trade and worked at the trade for a
number of years. In 1872 he was married to Margaret Bohne. After his marriage he
took over the old homestead and farmed up to about six years ago when he sold the
farm to his son-in-law, Mr. Louis Born, where the old couple resided. He is
survived by his widow and ten children, four boys and six girls. They are: Herman,
Henry, Robert and Willie; Mrs. Christoph Sixel, Mrs. Peter Sixel, Mrs. Albert Born,
Mrs. Louis Born, Mrs. Richard Lutze and Mrs. John Roethel and one sister, Mrs.
Ernst Zill of Kiel. The funeral was held Tuesday at 1:30 pm at St. Jocobi
Evangelical Lutheran Church and was buried at the joint cemetery, Rev. Fuerst
officiated. Peace to his soul.
