Mayme C. Nate, age 81, of 2005 Division St., Manitowoc, died Friday, November 17, 2000, at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2000, at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, N. 14th St., and Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc. Rev. Gerald Foley will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.

Mayme was born October 27, 1919, at Menchalville, daughter of the late Emil and Barbara Dufek Slager. She was educated at Menchalville.

Mayme married Norbert B. Nate on June 26, 1941, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Kellnersville. Norbert preceded her in death on May 15, 1982. They celebrated 41 years together.

She was a member of Holy Innocents parish, the Christian Women at Holy Innocents and the Daughters of Isabella. Mayme enjoyed cooking, gardening, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was an avid reader.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Jeanne and Dale Hynek, Two Rivers, Sher Nate, Reifle, Colo.; grandchildren include Erin and Dan Meara, St. Louis, Mo., Russ Hynek, Madison, Wis., Kali and Devin Kerns, Rifle, Colo.; two great-grandchildren, Sean Hynek and Morgan Meara; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mayme was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Relatives and friends may call at Holy Innocents Catholic Church from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of service at 11 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Manitowoc is serving the family.
