Obit -- Mildred W. Winnie Age 95, passed away February 16, 1988 in East Lansing. She was born in Danby Township, Ionia County, the daughter of John and Ella (Lunn) Warner. She attended a rural school in Danby Township and moved to the village of Mulliken with her parents where she finished school. She married James Doane Winnie and together they operated the Winnie Hardware Store of Grand Ledge. Upon his death, she continued with the business activities until retiring June 30, 1976; at which time she moved to the Burcham Hills Retirement Home. Survivors include 2 nephews, Roger J. Allen of Atlanta, GA and Sherry Allen of Kalamazoo; 1 niece, Margaret Braun of Bellivue, WA. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Warner Allen and a brother, Robert Warner. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 20, 10 a.m. at the Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge, with internment at the Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
