ESSIE JONES DEAD
Mrs. Essie Jones, native and long-time resident of Putnam County, died in a hospital at St. Joseph at 4:30 o'clock Monday afternoon following complications which resulted from a fall she suffered on the Friday previous in which a bone in her shoulder was fractured. Pneumonia developed, it is understood, and brought about her death.
Essie Ledford Jones was born in Putnam County on Jan. 26, 1871, and spent her entire life in this county, where she became very well-known and earned a wide circle of friends. She was born in Elm Township, but for many years resided in Unionville.
The body was brought to the Husted Funeral Home on Monday night, and remains there until the funeral Thursday. Burial will be in the Ledford Cemetery in accordance with her request, following the funeral.
