H.W. LEDFORD DEAD
Henry William, son of G.F. Ledford and Martha A. Ledford, died on Mar. 8, 1955 at Odessa, Texas. He had made his home there with his granddaughter, Violet King, for three years until she moved to California. He then lived for a time with his son, Glen, in the Elliott Hotel at Odessa, until he became ill and was taken to the Medical Center Hospital in that city where he died.
The deceased was born June 11, 1873 near Elko in Putnam County, Missouri. He was married to Anna H. Burns on May 1, 1898. One son, Glen, was born to this union and his home is at Odessa, Texas. The wife died Apr. 9, 1941. Mr. Ledford had four sisters and one brother, as follows: Essie Jones, deceased; Anna F. Bennett of Cameron, Missouri; Sadie Martin, deceased; Mattie E. Schuster of Worthington, Missouri; and Lucian Ledford of Unionville, Missouri. One son, Glen of Odessa, Texas, survives; and three grandchildren, two of whom, Charles and Donald, are deceased, and Violet King of California; and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Ledford was a life-long resident of near Elko until about three years ago, and had many friends who regarded him highly as a good citizen and one who could be depended on for good judgement and upright conduct. His remains were laid to rest at Odessa, Texas on Mar. 12th.
