Susan was the wife of Theophilus Wylie Montgomery (1819-1893). They were married on November 4, 1853. Susan was the mother of at least six children with Theophilus including: Maria, Mary J., Henry C., Oscar, James and Samuel Montgomery. Susan was the daughter of Rev. Samuel J. Close and Nancy Ann (Collier) Close. She died at the age of 30.
