He was married to the former Nellie Shaw, on November 11, 1913. To this union four children were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ray M. Stephenson, and a grandchild, Scott Edward Moore.
Survivors included his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Fern Moore, of English, In., and Mrs. Corrine Haycox, of Palmyra, In.; two sons, Glendon and Merrill Stephenson, both of English, In.; a brother, Artie V. Stephenson, of Milltown, In.; 13 grandchildren, and a aunt, Mrs. Eliza Dotson, of Indianapolis, In.
He was a member of the English Methodist Church. He was a kind and loving father and a helpful friend to all who knew him. He was a lifelong resident of Crawford County, In., and was employed for 10 years at the English Plant of the Huntingburg Furniture Factory Company.
Final rites were held on June 27, 1957 at the El Bethel Church, with Rev. L. E. Todd, of Elnora, In. officiating.
Burial was in the El Bethel Cemetery.
