He died at his home near Magnolia, In., where he spent the better part of his life.
He was married to the former Anna Alice Batman, in Crawford County, In. on December 24, 1893. She preceded him in death on February 9, 1933.
He was survived by three sons, Guy Scott Stephenson, of El Bethel, In.; Ray Murl Stephenson, of Evansville, In., and Artie Von Stephenson, at home; two brothers, Lee Stephenson, of Illinois, and Ed Stephenson, of near Marengo, In.; one sister, Mrs. Eliza Dotson, of Indianapolis, In.; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Six brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Leonard Cummins, at the El Bethel Church with burial in the church cemetery, on October 13, 1943.
