Obituary: Absalom Loos was born Dec 1, 1836, on White Eyes Plain, Oxford Township, Coshochon, Ohio. He came to Illinois in the Spring of 1861 and was married to Emaline Lewis on the 3rd of March 1864 at her father's home in Lawrence County. To therm were born three sons and two daughters, of whom one daughter preceded him to the better world. He leaves a wife, three sons and one daughter to mourn their loss. Bro Loos was stricken with paralysis Feb 18, 1898, had a second stroke on Election Day in the following April, and a third stroke Oct 17, 1901. He died Oct 18, 1901, age 63 years 10 months and 10 days. Page 4 Sumner Press 24 October 1901. A. Mushrush
Second Article: Absalom Loos, a worthy citizen living west of town died Friday at 7:10pm from a third stoke of paralysis. He leaves a wife, daughter, three sons and grandchildren to mourn for him.
