Ann M. Junk, age 95, a resident at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, formerly of 1208 N. 12th St., Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, where she had resided for the past two years.
Ann was born July 26, 1914, in the town of Meeme, Wis. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Theresa Schneider Stein. She was employed with the Sigmund Curtain Shop as a seamstress for over 20 years. On Sept. 4, 1934, she married Edward C. Junk at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, town of Meeme. He preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 1993. Ann was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the St. Clare Society of the church.
She is survived by three children: Lori Wretne, Trent Woods, N.C.; Gwen Brull, Manitowoc; Lois (Roger) Prucha, Racine; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law: Mabel Junk and Florence Junk, both of Manitowoc; brother-in-law: Lawrence Wagner, Sheboygan; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends surviving. She was preceded in death by her parents: Peter and Theresa Stein; husband: Edward C. Junk on Dec. 29, 1993; six brothers, five sisters, two grandsons and one great grandson.
Funeral services will be held 12 o'clock noon on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Gerald Foley with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 12 o'clock noon.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, N. 11th and St. Clare streets is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
