FULTON : Vassie (Adams) Oswalt, 90, died Tuesday, October 6, 1998, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born April 21, 1908, Itawamba County to Vester Adams and Georgia Rouse Adams. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist church for more than 70 years. She was a retired county employee in Racine, Wisc. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Eugene Digby and Bro C.D. Hood officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery . Senter Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include three daughters, Edith London, Orlando, FL, Erna Oswalt of Memphis, and Bobbye Turner of Collierville, TN: three sons, Billy Oswalt of Fulton, Kelly Oswalt of Trevor, WI, and Donald Oswalt of Kenosho, WI: two sisters, Vyrl Hood of Fulton, Dewdrop Tindall of Granada: 24 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren. Her husband Claude F. Oswalt, a daughter, Carolyn Young, two brothers, Bertie and Burks Adams, and two sisters, Dorothy Moore, and Emma Jane Adams; preceded her in death. Her grandsons served as pallbearers.
