Vivian Vyrl Adams Hood, age 103, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 18, 2016, at her home in the Ryan's Well community. She was born September 22, 1913, to the late Vester and Georgia Rouse Adams. She was a lifelong resident of Itawamba County and a member of Burntfields Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who made beautiful quilts. Known for her hospitality, she never met a stranger and made everybody feel loved. She cherished the time spent with family, and she played a big role in raising many of her grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter, Judy Buchanan (Eugene), and her son, Jackie Hood (Judy), both of Ryan's Well; two grandsons, Josh Hood (Chrissy) of Ryan's Well and Danny Hood (Kim) of Tremont; five granddaughters, Angie Gann of Mantachie, Julie Ables, her caregiver, of Ryan's Well, Traci South (William) and Shelly Green (Rodney), both of Tremont, and Rose Hurley of Ryan's Well; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Olma Hood; four sisters, Vassie Oswalt, Dewdrop Tindall, Dorothy Moore, and Imogene Adams; two brothers, Bertie Adams and Burks Adams; and two grandsons, Roy Hood and Charles Buchanan.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 19, at the funeral home.
