Educated in Portland schools, he was a salesman for Hills Bros. Coffee for 14 years. He was owner and operator of Cook's Broadway Auto Service for seven years. He also owned the Paul Schatz's Appliance store. For the past six years he had owned and operated the Barbo Machinery company. He sold the company January 1 but continued to be associated with the business.
Survivors include the widow, Elaine B., and four sisters, Mary Heerdt, San Francisco, and Mrs. Hermand Blaesing, Mrs. Stanley Boquist and Mrs. Richard Belland, all of Portland.
