Jesse Kilgore "Jess" White was born on Dec. 7, 1857 in Lawrenceville, Lawrence Co., Illinois. He was the son of Austin G. White (1829-1874) and Jane Dubois (1831-1882), the third of their three known children. Jesse's parents are buried in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery in Lawrenceville, Illinois.

Jesse's father, Austin, was born in Muskingen Co., Ohio. He was the son of Silas White, Sr. (1793-1866?) and Cynthia Ann Hammitt (1803-bet 1880/1900).

Jesse's mother, Jane, is thought to have been born in either Lawrence Co., Illinois or Knox Co., Indiana. She was the daughter of Jesse Kilgore Dubois I (1811-1876) and Jane Batterton (1812-1839) and a granddaughter of Revolutionary War soldier, Toussaint Debois Sr. (1751-1816), and his wife, Jane Baird (1781-1843).

On Feb. 18, 1896 Jesse married Mary G. "Mamie" Tracy (1869-1945) in Lawrenceville, a GG-GD of Toussaint Dubois (abt 1854-1816) and Anne Janne Bonneau (1700-1800. Jesse was 38 years of age, Mamie 26. Despite their ages, it was the first marriage for each of them. Mamie was born in Lawrenceville, Lawrence Co., IL, the daughter of Edward "Ed" Tracy (1844-1903) and Mary Jane Mieure (1850-1872).

Mamie's father, Edward, was born in Vincennes, Knox Co., Indiana and died in Lawrenceville, Lawrence Co., IL. He is buried in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Mamie's mother, Mary Jane Mieure, was born in Lawrenceville, Lawrence Co., IL. She too, died in Lawrenceville and is also buried in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.

Edward and Mamie had only one known child, Tracy White (1897-1897). He was born on Sept. 29, 1897 and died less than two months later. He is buried in the White family burial area in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.

When Jesse died on May 6, 1918 in Lawrenceville at the age of 60. He and Mamie had been married for 22 years. Jesse is buried in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery where his parents and son are buried.

In the mid-1920s, Jesse's widowed wife, Mamie, moved to the Tampa area of Florida not far from were her aunt, Sadie (Mieure) Parker, and Sadie's second husband, Charles H. "Charlie" Parker (1846-1938), were living. A couple of years later she married widower, Augustus Clingman "A.C." Boyles (1867-1936), a medical doctor who had given up his practice in North Carolina to become a fruit/truck farmer in Florida. About 1929 they moved to AC's home state of North Carolina where he resumed his medical career. He eventually moved to the Mt. Airy area accepting a position as as a contract physician for a granite company.

AC was the son of Rev. Marcus Wrightman "M. W." Boyles (1842-1892) and Susannah Alice "Susan" Wood (1846-1895). Marcus was an old-time Methodist Episcopal (ME) preacher. Both were born in Lincoln Co., North Carolina, lived and died there. They are buried in the Maplewood Cemetery in Durham, Durham Co., NC.

After her second husband's sudden death (heart attack) in 1936, Mamie soon moved back to the Tampa area of Florida with her daughter, Dorothy. About 1944, due to her failing health, Mamie returned to Lawrence Co., IL to be near her relatives. She died on Dec. 22, 1945 in Bridgeport (Lawrence County) where she was a resident in a long term health care facility. She too, is buried in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery, next to her first husband, Jesse White Sr, and their only child, Tracy White.
