Harold N Cox, 74, 609 N Center Street, died Saturday at Marshalltown Area Community Hospital. Services will be at 1:30 pm Tuesday at Central Christian Church with Rev. Kenneth Dean in charge. Military burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
He was born June 9, 1906 at Moulton, the son of AB adn Ollie Gravatt Cox. He graduated from high school at Moulton.
He was married June 9, 1928, to Mabel Stevens in Centerville. She survives, also a son, Noland Cox, Marshalltown; a daughter Patricia Doud, Winterhaven, Florida; two sisters, Enid (Mrs Marscelle) Stober, Bloomfield, and Erma (Mrs Everet) Priestein, Fredericksburg; a brother, Max Cox, Oskaloosa, and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson.
Mr Cox lived in Marshalltown for 53 years. He was employed by the Iowa Electric Light and Power Company for 17 years, ran a used furniture business for 18 years and for 25 years had an antenna installation business.
He served in the US Army from 1943-1945.
Friends may call at the Avey Funeral Home until 1130 am on Tuesday.
