Virgil Whipple 84, Greensburg, died January 21, 2005 in Columbus, IN. He was born May 19, 1920 in Milford, IN. He was a farmer and member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Greensburg, IN. He enjoyed hunting, wood working and collecting antique tools.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wed., January 26 at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg, with calling there 3 to 7 p.m. Tue., January 25.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Sarah E. (Elder) Whipple; sons, Dallas E. and Marion E. Whipple, both of Greensburg, IN; daughter, Betty R. Johnson-Louden of Hartsville, IN; sister, Vera Fletcher of Westport, IN; 4 grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; and 8 great-grandchildren.
