Greenberry Horras Harrison...often found as "G.H. Harrison" or Greenberry H. Harrison, was a Texas Republic congressman, newspaper owner/editor, Hotel operator and steam boat owner/Captain. He fought under Sam Houston in the Cherokee War of 1839, serving as a General.

Greenbery Horras Harrison b. 1811 married Esther W. Gillespie, the daughter of David and Mary Gillespie, in Blount County, Alabama July 24, 1831.

To them, two sons were born:
- Joseph David on July 28, 1832
- James Horras on June 17, 1834.

James Horras died while still a baby. On November 9, 1835 Greenberry H. Harrison and Esther separated and after setting aside a trust estate for her, he went to Texas. When he became an adult, Joseph David moved to Texas near an aunt and uncle in Blanco County, later moved to neighboring county of Gillespie.

Greenberry married Anne Catherine Farris of Kentucky who was the widow of George B. McKinstry who was a business partner of the Stephen F. Austin family. Stephen F. Austin died in the home of George B. McKinstry. Greenberry and Anne lived in Austin, Texas, and later Galveston, Texas. The wedding ceremony of Greenberry H. Harrison and Mrs. Ann C. McKinstry took place at the "Texas White House" with Pres. Mirabeau Lamar acting host to the wedding party.
