Della Garner, 95, formerly of R.D. 1, Proctor, WV and more recently, a patient at Maple's Convalescent Home, Weston, WV, died Tuesday, April 4, 1978 following an extended illness. She was born in Wetzel County on September 25, 1882, a daughter of the late Jesse Sharp and Alcinda Goddard Sharp. She was a member of the Antioch Christian Church of R.D. 1, Proctor. In 1900 she was married to Henry T. Garner who preceded her in death on May 18, 1962.
Surviving her are several nieces and nephews. Two brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 6, 1978, at the Floyd Funeral Home, Weston, with the Rev. Denzil Proudfoot officiating. Graveside services were held Thursday, April 6 in the Antioch Cemetery with the Rev. George H. Taylor of the First Christian Church, New Martinsville officiating. Interment was by the Floyd Funeral Home, Weston and all local arrangements were made by the Iams Funeral Home of New Martinsville.
