Richard was raised on a farm in Gill's Pier, MI. Richard and his wife Monica planted cherry trees with the help of his father Art and brother-in-law Donald, by hand. Richard would commute from Milwaukee every winter to prune the cherry trees and every summer to pick the cherries by hand. He enjoyed raising flowers and vegetables at his home and for The Havenwood's Garden plots. Richard also did many hours of volunteer work at The Havenwood Nature Center. He loved to visit his friends daily at The Home Depot in West Allis. He enjoyed working with tools and was a great carpenter. He could build or fix anything. After retiring, Richard did consultation work in 5 different countries.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1875 N. Calhoun Rd., Brookfield, WI from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM vigil. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at ST. STANISLAUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 524 W. Historic Mitchell St., at 10:00 AM. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery to follow.
