Samuel Grant Phelps, 34 years old, died last evening at 6:55 o'clock at the family residence, 16 Porter Street, South Norfolk, after a brief illness of pneumonia.
He was a son of W.P. Phelps and the late Mrs. Henrietta Pierce Phelps, of Bertie County, N.C., but had lived here seventeen years. In addition to his father he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beulah Phelps; and these children: Roy, Cleo, Paul, Joseph and an infant; brothers and sisters —John, William and Hunter Phelps, Mrs. Delk Todd, Mrs. Daniel Cooper, Mrs. Earl Hastings and Misses Dora and Daisy Phelps.
The funeral will be conducted at the grave in Riverside Memorial Park Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
