Sept. 26, 1949 - July 22, 2013
Ronald "Butch" Buck was born on Sept. 26, 1949 in Seguin, TX to Warren Buck and Shirley Hamblin Buck, where he was raised in a loving home with his siblings, Babs, Dee, Roger, Debbie and Dennis.
Butch met the love of his life, Carolyn Ruth Green, in high school and the two married on June 13, 1970. Butch graduated from Texas A&M University in 1972, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Soon thereafter, Butch and Carolyn made their way to San Antonio and Helotes where he became known as Ron to so many. Ron worked for EG&G Automotive Research, Concept Engineering and most recently, Test Engineering, Inc.
Ron's greatest attention and focus, however, was on his Lord and his family- a faithful husband to Carolyn and father to Toni, Traci and Ryan. His 14 grandkids affectionately dubbed him "Poppy" and he was faithful to pass along to them the Aggie Spirit! Poppy can best be described by these words "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control" (Gal. 5:22). Poppy, a man of few words, but filled with much love towards many. We will miss him deeply.
Butch is preceded in death by his father, Warren "Tory" Buck and by his lovely bride, Carolyn Ruth Buck (July 4, 2013).
Butch is survived by his three children- Toni Hastings and husband, Charlie of Kerrville, Traci Fitzpatrick and husband, Ty of Hondo, and Ryan Buck and wife, Stacy of Helotes. His grandchildren include- Taryn, Hannah, Kendall, Darian, Caden and Colton Hastings; Tyler, Tristan, Tate, Teagan and T Fitzpatrick; and Masie, Katelyn, and Gunner Buck. He is also survived by his mother, Shirley Buck Vajdos of Seguin, siblings Babs Kiel (Jeep), Dee Buck (Terry), Roger Buck (Ruthy), Debbie Volpe (Louis), and Dennis Buck (Pedro) and also many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and the Green Family, all of whom he loved.
A memorial service will be Saturday, July 27, 2013, 10 a.m. at Bandera Road City Church, 9431 Bandera Rd., San Antonio, TX 78250
