Harry J. Sullivan, a lifelong Taunton resident, died after a brief illness Saturday Jul 22, 2000 at New England Sinai Hospital, Stoughton. He was 85. He was the husband of Miriam J. (Quigley) Sullivan. Born in Taunton, he graduated from Coyle High School in 1934 and attended St. Michael's College in Vermont and Boston University. Mr. Sullivan was a social worker in Taunton and for the Commonwealth for 40 years retiring in 1990. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. Mr. Sullivan was the son of the late Daniel J. and Catherine (Fahey) Sullivan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Paula Borges of Taunton, Denise Shea of East Taunton, Jane Williams of North Dighton, Christine Galuski of Cambridge and Miriam C. Rose of Inman, SC; four sons, Gerald, Gregory and Brian Sullivan, all of Taunton and Harry J. Sullivan of Jacksonville, FL; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. form the O'Keefe-Wade Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the family lot at St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
