Mr. Fitzgibbon was a native of Ireland, born in the county of Limerick, in 1811. He emigrated to America in 1822, and came to Minnesota in 1857, being one of the first settlers of Waseca County. He was a brother-in-law to John Bradish of this place. Mr. FitzGibbon raised a respectable family of ten children, two of whom are in Ohio, two in St. Paul one at Moorehead, two unmarried at home, and one married to William Clark of Elysian township, Le Sueur County. Mr. Fitzgibbon was a healthy robust man, never having a day's sickness until last fall, when he prostrated partially by heart disease from which he was partially recovering until the 25th day of June when he was prostrated by sun stroke from which he never recovered. During his illness he was skillfully treated by Dr. Taylor of this place. He leaves a large number of relatives and friends by whom he was deservedly beloved.
