FAIRBURY - The funeral service for Carl S. Bachtold, 85, of 3 North Inner Circle Drive No. 1, Fairbury, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Forrest Apostolic Christian Chruch, Forrest, with ministers of the chruch officiating. Burial will be in Southside Apostolic Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hager Memorial Home, Forrest.
He died at 12:23 p.m. Tuesday (April 21, 1998) at OSF Saint James Hospital, Pontiac.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Haven Christian Home.
Mr. Bachtold was born Feb. 1, 1913 in Francesville, Ind., a son of William and Ida Alt Bachtold. He married Dorothy Ramseyer on Jan 16, 1938 in Bay City Mich. She survivies.
He is also survived by three daughters, Miriam (Ben) Metz, Francisville, and Roberta (Wayne) Broquard and Gloria (Wayne) Drayer, all of Fairbury; three sons, Samuel (Betty) Bachtold, St. Charles; and Roger (Shirlene) Bachtold, all of Fairbury' three sisters, Nettie Kyburz and Janita Koehl, both of Forrest; and Laura Kupferschmid, Eureka; two brothers, Elmer Bachtold, Forrest; and Willis Bachtold, Fairbury; 24 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildrne.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Bachtold was the founder of Bachtold Brothers 1947 to 1957.
He was a member of Forrest Apostolic Church.
