Murel H. Hampton

Ulysses - Murel H. Hampton, 69, died May 2, 1988, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, Ulysses. Born Sept. 8, 1918, in White County, Tenn., he married Freda A. Malone Aug 28, 1948, in Clayton, N.M. He was a retired farmer and rancher and was a Ulysses resident since 1919.

He was a member of First Baptist Church and was an honorary member of the Bit and Spur Rodeo Club.

Survivors: wife, of the home; brothers, Combs and Floyd, both of Ulysses; sisters, Lizzie LaFever, Lousetta Bullock and Phyllis Milburn, all of Ulysses; stepsisters, Lena Howard, Sparta, Tenn., Ila Hoyle, Nickerson, and Mattie Highlander, Ulysses.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Shelton Memorial Christian Church, Ulysses, the Rev. Jim Lorensen. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Thursday and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Phillips Mortuary, Ulysses. Memorials may go to the American Cancer Society.
