Wilma C. Bloodworth, 88, beloved child of God, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 29, 2013. She was born December 1, 1924 in Hartselle, AL, the daughter of the late James Alva Clements and Maudie Dutton Clements Futrell. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jesse W. Bloodworth, Sr.; sisters, Alma C. Whitten and husband, Bill, and Virginia Sosnowski. Wilma and Jesse lived in Rocky Point where they raised five children, Elizabeth "Bebe" Melvin (Jack) of Dunn, Jesse W. "Buck" Bloodworth, Jr. of Rocky Point, James A. "Jim" Bloodworth (Susan) of Burgaw, Timothy R. "Robbie" Bloodworth (Becki) of Midland and William "Bill" L. Bloodworth (Madeleyn) of Miami, FL. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 18 and soon to be 19 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Hazel Bloodworth of Wilmington and Lillian Bloodworth of Sparta; and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Cornerstone Church and was retired from Pender Memorial Hospital. Wilma loved her family and was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a strong Christian and a source of strength to family and friends. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with the Rev. Jim Chesson officiating. Burial will in Bloodworth Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
