"Mrs. Isabel Watson Wallin, 181 Stone Avenue, widow of the late John C. Wallin and mother of former Mayor William J. Wallin, died this morning. Mrs. Wallin had been ill since early in the year, never having fully recovered from the shock caused by the death of her husband who died on January 10 last of injuries suffered when he was run down by an automobile on Palisade Avenue. Shortly after this accident Mrs. Wallin suffered a fall in her home, wrenching her back badly.
Mrs. Wallin was born at Newtownstewart, County Tyrone, Ireland, on October 31, 1850, the daughter of Samuel Watson and Catherine Curran Watson. She came with her parents to Yonkers in the early part of 1864 and had since resided here.
In 1877 she was married to John C. Wallin. Six children were born of the marriage. Two died in infancy. A daughter Ida W. O'Neil, died about 10 years ago leaving a son, Frederick W. O'Neill, and her husband, Frederick R. O'Neil. Three sons, former Mayor Wallin, George V. Wallin, and Walter W. Wallin, and 11 grandchildren survive her. The funeral of Mrs. Wallin will be held on Sunday next from her late home with burial in Oakland Cemetery
