Ruth A. Casper, 94, of 1106 Dewey St., Kiel, died Tuesday evening, September 10, 2013 at Calumet Medical Center, Chilton surrounded by her loving family. She was the former Ruth Schreiber born June 17, 1919 in the Town of Meeme, daughter of the late Paul & Elfrieda (Reichwald) Schreiber. On November 2, 1938 she was united in marriage to Sylvester A. Casper at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz, WI. Sylvester preceded her in death on October 30, 1967. Ruth was a stay at home wife and mother raising her family and later worked at Calumet Homestead, New Holstein for 25 years until her retirement. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Kiel and the Christian Women. Ruth enjoyed reading, bird watching, gardening, embroidery and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. She was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth & Joseph Casper, one daughter, Kathryn Meyer, son-in-law, Dennis Peter, sister, Evelyn (Burkhardt) Spindler,, one brother, Melvin Schreiber, sister-in-law, Lucille Schreiber and brother-in-law, Jerome Balz. The funeral Mass for Ruth will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 413 Fremont St., Kiel, with Rev. Loren Nys S.D.S. officiating and Joe Zenk, Pastoral Leader assisting. Burial will take place in St. Gregory Cemetery, St. Nazianz. Family and friends may call at the Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 6th St. Kiel on Monday, September 16, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm and at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 am until 10:00 am when brief family rites will be held. A wake service will be held at 8:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established in her name. Ruth's family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Calumet Medical Center, Chilton and the Kiel Ambulance Service for all their help.
