Mr Owen Shepherd, a well known farmer living five miles west of Shepherdsville, KY the Bullitt Lick area, died at 5:35 pm, Wednesday, April 25, at St Anthonys Hospital after a week's illness ****. He was born August 30, 1885.
Mr Shepherd is survived by 5 daughters, Mrs Gladys Sadler, Mrs Letta Zimmerer,and Lucille Shepherd of Louisville. Miss Elizabeth Shepherd and Miss Beatrice Shepherd, his mother, Mrs Jennie Shepherd, a brother, Charles Shepherd, and six sisters: Mrs Clara Cheatham, Montana, Mrs Nannie Snellen, Mrs Julia Nall and Mrs Musetta Cox,all of Louisville and Mrs Lida Keith and Mrs Maud Beghtol. Funeral was conducted at the residence, Friday afternoon, April 27th at 2 p.m. by Rev T.L Mattingly with interment at the family cemetery.
*** Owen died from complications of a gunshot wound to the abdomen, 4 years earlier. The wound was a result of a disagreement with his brother, Charles Shepherd, regarding a parcel of land owned by their mother.
