Mr Wm. H. Shepherd, one of Bullitt's most prominent citizens died at his home near Woodland on Thursday due to a lingering case of lung disease in his 68th year. For many years, Mr Shepherd was a prominent lumber dealer and kept in business until forced by failing health to retire. He was a son of the late James Quary Shepherd and is survived by 4 brothers,J.H. Shepherd, C.Q. Shepherd, R.C. Shepherd and B.M. Shepherd, and one sister, Mrs J.H. Miller, a wife, four sons and six daughters. He was a good citizen and neighbor, a kind and loving husband and father and a true and faithful friend. On Sunday after services at his home, conducted by the Rev S.F. Martin, his remains were laid to rest in the family burying grounds. The funeral was conducted by the Masons, of which fraternity he was a faithful and consistent member. We render the grief stricken family our heart-felt sympathies.
