William R. Scott, 82, of 2568 Division St., Manitowoc, died Sunday, October 3, at Holy Family Skilled Nursing Facility.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Theodore J. Hendricks will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Scott was born April 17, 1900, at Hesperia, Mich., son of the late Frank and Jessie Coles Scott. He married Margaret Finklemier June 10, 1924, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tisch Mills. She preceded him in death Nov. 16, 1961. He then married Helen M. Finklemier Dec. 1, 1962, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Mr. Scott was employed 36 years as a repairman with Manitowoc Telephone Company, retiring Feb. 2, 1965. He was a member of Pioneers Telephone Club of America and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 706 of Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Floyd and Jane Scott of Allenton, Wis., and Donald and Rita Scott of Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rosemary and Burt Evans of Pocatello, Idaho and Rita L. and Clarence Weir of Boynton Beach, Fla.; a brother, Orin Scott of Houston, Texas; five sisters, Mrs. Walter (Blanche) Mueller of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Henry (Genevieve) Herzog of Edgerton, Wis., Mrs. Lucille Abell of Port Clinton, Ohio, Mrs. Carl (Frances) Dittmer of Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Nelson (Helen) Le Captain, of Kewaunee, 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m.
