Bertha M. Sturm, age 84, formerly of 1216 S. 20th St., Manitowoc, a resident of Shady Lane Home for the past 5 1/2 years, died Monday afternoon, April 17, 1995, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 1995, at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Roman Zbieranski, OFM, with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The former Bertha Mary Ratajczak was born January 19, 1911, in Kewaunee, daughter of the late Charles and Anna Pardowsky Ratajczak. She married Henry A. Sturm, Sr., October 1, 1935, at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Kewaunee. The couple farmed in the town of Two Rivers until 1970 and then moved to Manitowoc. He preceded her in death April 11, 1984. Mrs. Sturm was a member of St. Mary's Rosary and Altar Society.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Henry A. Fr. and Bernadette Sturm, Manitowoc, Karl and Deanna Sturm, Two Rivers, Robert Sturm, and his special friend, Carol, Sheboygan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Roland Drumm, Manitowoc, Diane and Ronald Wisnicky, Kewaunee; two brothers and four sisters-in-law, Harry and Dorothy Ratajczak, Kewaunee, Emil and Florence Rand, Milwaukee, Pauline Ratajczak, Kewaunee, Louise Ratajczak, Kewaunee; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Emma Sturm, two brothers, Louis and Alois, one granddaughter, Mary.
Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday where a prayer service will be held at 6:45 p.m. by Father Roman.
