Joseph (Zep) Traurig, 62, of 934 S. 19th St., Manitowoc, died Saturday evening at home following a coronary attack.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The very Rev. Msgr. Alfred Schneider will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Joseph Traurig was born Feb. 4, 1907, at Cato, son of the late Joseph and Catherine Zipperer Traurig Sr. He moved to Manitowoc as a child, where he resided since. He married Josephine Peronto Feb. 15, 1941, at Manitowoc and was employed as a welder at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc. for 23 years. A well-known lightweight boxer in the Manitowoc area, he also taught boxing at the Manitowoc Vocational School. He was a 25-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles-Aerie 706 and the Holy Name Society of the church.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Leo (Nancy) Jadowski of Two Rivers and Mrs. Roy (Sharon) Wilson of Manitowoc; four brothers, Charles, Herbert and Clarence of Manitowoc and Robert of St. Louis, Mo.; six sisters, Mrs. C. F. Leneau, Mrs. Ervin Meyers, Mrs. Pat Brennan, Mrs. Harold Chavalia and Mrs. Edward McIntyre of Manitowoc and Mrs. Philip Koob of Ludington, Mich.; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home where at 8 o'clock this Monday evening memorial services will be conducted.
