Mrs. Catherine Traurig, 76, of 1333 S. 11th Street, Manitowoc, died early Sunday
morning at Fairhills Convalescent Home, Rosecrans. She had been residing at the
home three months. Funeral services will be at 8:30 am Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral
Home, Manitowoc and at 9 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church. The Rev. Alfred
Pritzl will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Traurig was born November 24, 1881 at Whitelaw, daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Zipperer. She was married in 1904 to Joseph Traurig and the couple
came to Manitowoc 45 years ago. He died October 6, 1948.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Clifford Beaupre, Mrs. Ervin Meyers, Mrs. Patrick
Brennan and Mrs. Harold Chavalia of Manitowoc, Mrs. Philip Koob of Ludington,
Michigan and Mrs. Edward McIntyre of Santa Ana, Calif.; five sons, Joseph, Charles,
Hubert and Clarence of Manitowoc and Robert of Tipton, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs.
Adolph Vogel of Forestville, Wis., Mrs. Arthur Holtz of Kingsbridge and Mrs. Charles
Riendl of Whitelaw; 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home where the Knights of Columbus of Manitowoc
Council No. 710 will recite the Rosary at 7 o'clock this Monday evening.
