According to news article at the time of his death, Chas. "was active in the oil industry from boyhood, starting with his father when the family arrived here from Pennsylvania. They had extensive oil holdings in this vicinity and near Bowling Green, KY. Associated with him in the business were his brother Edward and sister Mrs. Hanrahan and her husband.

"Mr. Onsel was without a doubt the best posted all around oil man in this section of Ohio and his council was often sought by men much older and his opinions were highly prized and in most instances proved true. Not only was he thorough in one phase of the business, but in every department. In his passing the industry has lost one of its most successful and best versed oil men, and the community one of its valuable and progressive citizens."

Oral family tradition suggests that Charley was also a great deal of fun.

Dr. and Mrs. J.P. Henry of Rochester, NY attended Charlie's funeral. If anyone knows the connection, I am all ears!
