GARWOOD — Ova "O.W." Belcher, 99, of Garwood died Friday, October 11, 2013 at his home. Born July 19, 1914 at Garwood, he was the son of the late Ira B. Belcher and Dora Mae Lafferty Belcher.

Mr. Belcher attended Guyandotte Church of God in Herndon Heights. He was a retired coal miner and member of UMWA, retiring from Lamar and Herndon after 40 years service. He owned Ova TV Repair Shop. He was a terrific gardener and farmer all his life and was always busy working.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Thelma Virginia Ratliff Belcher in 2012; one brother, Estil Belcher and three sisters, Wanda Bailey, Nellie Edna Belcher and Virginia Mae Belcher.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2013 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Ricky Pugalee officiating. Interment will follow at Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Green Valley. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour on Monday, October 14 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
