Mary Remiker, age 94, died peacefully on Saturday, October 26th, 2013 at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center where she resided for the past 6 years.
Mary was born Sept. 8th, 1919, the daughter of Charles and Emma (Shebesta) Konop. She married Joseph Remiker on her birthday, Sept 8th, 1943 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville. Together, in rural Reedsville, they raised their family and farmed until retirement in 1980. Mary and Joe just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Mary enjoyed Bohemian baking, reading, crossword puzzles, making rosaries for the missions and Sunday dancing with her husband. She was very active in church affairs at St. Patrick Church, Maple Grove and Holy Family Church, Brillion, serving as a Eucharistic minister and Sacristan.
She is survived by her husband Joe; two sons and daughters-in-law Ron (Joni) Remiker of Elcho, WI and their children Ross (Kris), Wendy (Joel) DeNamur, Ryan (Jen), Robb (Melissa), Adam and Zachary (Allie); Bob (Penny) Remiker of Berkley, CA and their children Drew (Nina) and Adriane; three daughters and sons-in-law Jean (Ron) Nohr of Waunakee, WI and their children Sarah (Brian) Began, Matthew (Katie); Shari (Bob) Foscato of East Troy, WI; Mary (Terry) Schenian of Green Bay, WI; great-grandchildren Leah, Joe and Lexi; Brenna, Samantha, Ali and Jack; Eliot, Henry and Simon; Collin and Macy; Leighton and Essie Lu; Molly, Morgan and Miles. Also survived by a sister Emily Loritz, brother Jim (Pat) Konop, sisters-in-law Shirley Konop and Mary Dorothy Hastreiter and brother-in-law Vic Remiker, a cousin Sylvia Sauer and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Charlie, Louis and Leo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Officiating at the Mass will be the Rev. Timothy Brandt with burial to follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Maple Grove.
