Dennis W. Shevy, age 92 of Pound, Wisconsin, passed away September 21, 2010. He was born on April 13, 1918 in the Town of Beaver, WI to the late John and Mollie (Gusick) Shevy. He lived in Pound all of his life.

A Veteran of World War II, he was attached to the United States Army Air Corps during the landing at Normandy on D-Day; was in Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge and in Germany for the opening of the concentration Camp Dachau.

He married Erma "Helen" Werteleski on June 12, 1948 and was a farmer and also worked as a machinist for Graetz Mfg. Company in Pound. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and traveled both the United States and Canada on many hunting and fishing trips with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Helen of 62 years;
three daughters: Denise (Douglas) Weittenhiller of West Bend, WI; Vicki (Rodney) Johnson of Pound, WI and Kathy (Gregg) Schwallbach of Richfield, WI;
seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren;
two brothers: Marvin Shevy of Pound, WI and Henry Shevy of Crivitz, WI;
six sisters: Edna Tachick and Deloris (Larry) VanderLeest, both of Pound, WI; Mildred Shevy, Margaret Brux and Irene Shevy, all of Manitowoc, WI and Jane (Gayle) Minor of Tampa, FL;
two sisters-in-law: Helen Shevy and Erma Shevy, both of Pound, WI.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Raymond, Robert and Alvin Shevy and a sister Phyllis Shevy.
